From the Heart:
I came, I saw, did I do good?
People evaluate people by what they achieved, not by who they were. He was president, she was a doctor, or head of a corporation, or mayor of a community, that hierarchical title. Achieving that goal warrants praise, and it should. But, this goal is just a paper goal, it does not tell what the person did to achieve their status in life? Did they help others to build, as they built themselves? Or, did they use others to get to where they did?
In the end, we will be judged not by what we achieved, but by how we achieved it, by how we helped other to achieve their goals. Top places will go to those who assisted others, be this the parent who gave their children life and nurtured them as they grew, to the teacher who held the child's hand and guided them in thought, to those who provided employment and services to help sustain their needs, to those who by their example helped to guide the young man or the young woman during their life. In the end, what we achieved will count less than how we achieved it.
Would like to thank all those who assisted me in maintaining the family information over this last year. Your help has been much appreciated.
A very Merry Christmas season to everyone, Donald
Genealogy
In last years newsletter, suggested when your grandchildren come to visit, you sit down with them and have a "history hour" discussing your past and the past of their ancestors. Have them to become acquainted with their family of old. This year I am suggesting, together, you visit these ancestors. Yes, you heard me right. Plan an "outing" or two or three and visit their great-grandparents, their 2nd great-grandparents, their 3rd great-grandparents. Go to the cemeteries where they are buried, find their graves, and say hello. And, you don't have to do this just one time. Have them take a flower, maybe two, and leave them at the graves. Take along a picture so they can see who they are saying hello to. Have them to reach out and touch their great-grandparents even if this is only their grave marker or the ground under which they are buried. Their ancestors will come alive. Most important, share these moments now, so your grandchildren can remember them later.
Keep me in mind when you change your email provider or postal address as this will assist me in getting the newsletter announcement to you. Check here for the individuals for who we presently need an updated email address. This 2009 distribution is encountering quite a few invalid email addresses. Check, maybe you can help correct one or more. You may be identified there. Thank you.
A reminder, if you should distribute a family newsletter, would appreciate if you might send me a copy as it will help to keep me up-to-date.
The Omnibus Portal web site's home can be found here. Thanks to Donovan James Schulteis of Great Falls, Montana for hosting it.
Suggest you review this newsletter in say a month. Past experience has shown much family information is acquired in the month following the release of the newsletter.
By the way, the postal family newsletter does not contain the family heritage background information sections and their associated pictures.
"A memento, and you come to life
A remembrance, and they hold your hand
A picture, and you live on forever"

"I'm attaching a newsletter that I wrote. It pretty much explains itself and what I am up to.
This disorder I talk about, may be interesting to you in that it is not genetic (for me).
Thank goodness for all those descended along my lines!
It has been quite a journey. My website is pretty nice. If you have a chance, please look it
up. I'm pretty proud of it, I've never done anything like this before. I wrote it and created
my picture.
I wondered if you might put a link to it in your next newsletter. Maybe there might be someone
interested in supporting my runs because they have some connection themselves in a family member
or friend to this cause? It would be really interesting to me, if I ever could find out if anyone
in my line has had or has this Neurofibromatosis or Schwannomatosis."

Assistance Needed:
Am very much in need of photos for many family members. If you have not shared a portrait photo of yourself and your spouse and a family photo, the family heritage needs them! Don't forget high school graduation photos.
Check here for guidelines addressing heritage background information and picture gathering.
Hope the year 2010 is everything you wish for it to be. Take care, and enjoy your family.
Peace to you
End of this the 2009 newsletter.
