From the Heart:

Christmas season is a time to reflect on family, those with us today and those who have gone on to meet their God. For those who are with us, stop by and say hello. For those who have gone on, you can still stop by and say hello. We cherish all as they are family; they are special; they are who we love; reach out and touch them.

Genealogy

Over these last several years, have suggested you take your grandchildren aside and help them to meet their ancestors. This might be by sitting down your grandchildren with a family picture book and show them who their great-grandparents and 2nd great-grandparents were. If you have newspaper articles about them, then is the time to show and tell, read it to them and while you do, explain the situation at the time. Take you grandchildren to meet their ancestors by visiting their graves and say hello. Visit where they lived. Take them to the local historical society to see what it was actually like when their ancestors were living. There may be enactments with people dressed in period costumes. Have your children and grandchildren to be a part of it. Check with your local Historical Society and see what they have to offer. You might be pleasantly surprised.

You may have noticed additional information is available on the four family sub-sites at The Omnibus Portal. If you missed this, you are here now, check it out. Parents of spouses of our direct ancestors have been added, some go back four generations. Gertrude Margaret Doll, my Schulteis great-grandmother, was the spouse of Herman Joseph Schulteis. Before the change, when you looked at her detail, her parents were not identified. Now you will find her parents, her Doll grandparents back one generation and her Stuesser grandparents back three generations. The same can be said for Margaret Mühlbauer, wife of Anton Siegl, my Siegl great-grandmother. For Margaret, you can go back four generations on her fathers side and two generation on her mothers side. Check your ancestors out. Enjoy.

Keep me in mind when you change your email or postal address as this will assist me in getting the newsletter announcement to you. Thank you.

A reminder, if you should distribute a family newsletter, would appreciate if you might send me a copy as it will help to keep me up-to-date.

The Omnibus Portal web site's home can be found here. Thanks to Donovan James Schulteis of Great Falls, Montana for hosting it.

Suggest you review this newsletter in say a month. Past experience has shown much family information is acquired following the release of the newsletter.

By the way, the postal family newsletter does not necessarily contain all the information you will find on the web site, specifically photos and linked to pages.

Check here for the individuals for who we presently need an updated email address. The information will be retained for two years, then removed. At that point, if no one resaponds, they will be lost to us.

"A memento, and you come to life
A remembrance, and they hold your hand
A picture, and you live on forever"
