St. Augustine was located on highway 167 (Holy Hill Road) at the intersection of sections 8, 9, 16, and 17. It was never more than a hamlet. Its attraction was the St. Augustine Catholic church. After the church was consumed by fire in 1922, was is left was a cemetery and a few commercial buildings west across the road. They exists yet today.
