St. Jacobi Evangelical Reformed Church dates back to 1851. Early officers were John Bauer was president, John Kissinger was secretary and Fred Ebling treasurer. Other officers included John Bauer, John Boehmer, and Henry Melius. The first log church was erected about 1852. This structure served the congregation until 1892 when a new church building was erected by C. Reidenbach. The name of the first pastor is unknown. The first known pastor was Reverend G. Ebling.
