Donald Schulteis: "Bill was involved with the development of the first bulk application using transmission to receive data and distribute reports. Ask LACC what an absolute operational night mare it was receiving and transmitting data from/to the bulk plants and the recovery of the indexed files. RamonTelez and Bob Todd can attest to that. When the application was first implemented, the programming staff had to lead the recovery effort which generally happened at night or in the early morning hours. After developing the recovery scripts, which was almost as difficult as developing the application programs, recovery became much easier for all; especially the programmers."

Pete was literally a cornerstone of the Northeast Computer Center. His career reflects what he was as a person. His friendships, outlook and approach to work are what he left us.

Pete was many things to all of us, most importantly, Pete was impatient and irreverent with bureacracy, dedicated to a quality effort, a most giving person professionally, and a leader and teacher by example. It was only that he was recgnized and respected by everyone he worked with, inside and outside of NECC. In his unassuming way he had beocme our unofficial ambassador ond represented the best qualities of NECC.
