Plat is located in section 32. It can be first found on a 1929 plat map and exists on present day county maps.

It started with a cheese factory, implement shop, saloon, school and general store.

"I remember the blacksmith in Plat was Tony Michels in 1940's, died in 50's. He was a great man, showing us kid's how to shoe horses, sharpen plow shares. We would spin the blower handle on his forge", D. Claffey.
