Ronald R. Ponfil

A service of remembrance was held today at the Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Avenue, Oostburg, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA, for Ronald R. Ponfil of Sheboygan and formerly of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, who died at the age of 65 years at his home on Friday morning, 22 September 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Reverend Kent Vant Hul officiated. Full military honors followed the service. Friends called at the funeral home.
Ron was born in Crivitz, Marinette County on 05 March 1941, son of Anton and Mary (Porfilio) Ponfil. He was a 1959 graduate of Crivitz High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. On 27 June 1964, Ronald married the former Lynda Tordeur in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County. Ron was a plumber by trade and had been employed at Cliff Bergin and Associates in Mequon for 40 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Plumbers Union and enjoyed cruises, going to the casino, NASCAR, sports, travel, hunting and fishing.
Ronald was survived by his wife Lynda; a daughter Tania (Mike) Switon of Cedar Grove; a son, Brian (Kelly) Ponfil of Glendale, Arizona; two grandchildren, Zachary Hauser and Emily Switon; five sisters, Helen Franzen, Louise Sprouse and Donna Martens all of Crivitz, Aggie Witak of Peshtigo and Vi Dart of Green Bay; brother Paul Ponfil of Cedarburg; sister-in-law Rita (William) Dehn of Rhinelander; mother-in-law June Tordeur of Marinette and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Craig Ponfil; his father-in-law, Clarence Tordeur; and five brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Lyale H. Ostrander

Lyale H. Ostrander of Aberdeen, Marlyand, passed away at the age of 80 years on Saturday, 23 September 2006. Lyale was born in the town of Barton, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, on 10 December 1925, son of Claude and Hilda (Homuth) Ostrander. He entered the United States Army at an early age. Lyale fought in World War II under General Patton in the European Theater in Germany where he married Hilda Brantano. He made a career in the military and was stationed at Aberdeen, Maryland, retiring there.
Lyale was survived by his wife, Hilda of 59 years; a son, Ronald (Doris) and two grandsons, Shawn and Sheen, all of Sugarland, Texas; a brother, Leslie (Eleanor) Ostrander of Kewaskum; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Alvah; a sister-in-law, Ruby; and a grandson, Ronny.
Cremation has taken place.

Robert J. Olsen
M, b. 11 March 1921, d. 27 September 2006
Robert J. Olsen of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 85 years on Wednesday, 27 September 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center. Robert was born on 11 March 1921 in Wittenberg, Shawano County, son of Arthur and Vera (nee Goglin) Olsen. He graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1939. Robert served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart. After his discharge, Robert attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in science. He then moved to West Bend and worked as comptroller and office manager for Enger Kress. The last several years before his retirement in 1983 he worked for Hartford Hospital. Robert was a member of the west Bend Fred A. Schaefer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1393 and the West Bend Lions Club. He helped start and was a coach for the West Bend Little League and enjoyed baseball, bowling, fishing and hunting.
Robert was survived by five children, Carla (Ralph) Gengler of Campbellsport, Catherine (special friend Dean Harthum) Engel of West Bend, David (Beth) Olsen of West Bend, Alan (Kathleen) Olsen of Germantown and Andrea Olsen of Grafton; three grandchildren, Krista (Matt) Dwyer of Kewaskum, Anthony (Gretchen) Engel of Hartford and Mariana (Jeff) Tetzlaff of West Bend; three great-grandchildren, Cayden Dwyer, Rylie Dwyer and Ethan Engel; a sister, Dorothy VanVlett of Berne, Indiana; a brother, Donald (Jean) Olsen of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Claire Olsen of Sturgeon Bay; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Carmen Olsen, along with three brothers, Harold, Lyle and Leroy.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life was held on Friday, 06 October at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Reverend David Schoob officiated. Visitation was at the funeral home.

Thomas J. Gundrum

Thomas J. Gundrum, also known as Tom, of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 62 years on Saturday, 30 September 2006 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on 21 September 1944 in Hartford, son of Roy and Jeanette (nee Mago) Gundrum. He was raised in Slinger, graduating from Slinger High School in 1962. After graduation, he entered the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Upon returning from the service, Tom went back to school and had several jobs before joining his father in the family meat market, becoming the third generation to do so. He was a member of the Slinger Zunker-Held Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3358. His passion, since age 12, was hunting. He loved to mentor kids after high school to help them prepare for the real world of work.
He was survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley (nee Schinke); children, Michael (Becky) and Heidi (Gerald) Lofy, both of Slinger; grandchildren, Adam, Emily and Thomas Lofy, and Taylor and Kylie Gundrum; his parents, Roy and Jeanette of Slinger; his siblings, Mark (Kay) of Michigan, Frank (Sherry) of Hartford, Rosie (Donald) Brown of Kentucky, Barbara (Bill) Badini of Hartford and Lori (Thomas) Teusch of Slinger; and his mother-in-law, Delores Schinke. He was further survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; a lifelong friend, Arnold Malsack; his hunting partner, Thomas Zimmerman; and also several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass was on Tuesday, 03 October at St. Peter Catholic Church, 202 East. Washington Street, Slinger, where Father Rick Stoffel officiated. Cremation was at Paradise Cremation Services, West Bend. Visitation with family and friends took place on Tuesday at St. Peter Church.

David B. Konen

David B. Konen of Plymouth, passed away at the age of 79 years on Saturday, 30 September 2006 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center in Sheboygan. David was born on 12 January 1927, son of Peter and Anna (Schmitz) Konen on a farm near Dotyville, Fond du Lac County where he grew up and attended schools. As a teenager, David moved to Plymouth where he worked until he was 17. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the South Pacific for two years. After his discharge from the service, David returned to Plymouth and on 29 October 1947, he and the former Cora Bergin were married. They continued to live in Plymouth until 1951, when they moved to Barton, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, where they lived and worked for 50 years. He was employed for the Asplundh Tree Expert Company for about 40 years.
David was survived by his wife of 58 years, Cora; seven children, James (Kathy) Konen of Casper, Wyoming., Patricia Konen, John Konen and Peter (Cherie) Konen, all of Plymouth, Beverly (Art) Kelling of Random Lake, Kay (Gary) Nothem and Karen (Paul) Stark, both of Adell; 10 grandchildren, Renee Bong, David and Valerie Kelling, Craig, Ben, James and Paul Konen, Paul, Cory and Nicole Stark; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ambrose (Jill) Konen of New Holstein; a sister, Anna Marie Schneider of Sheboygan. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Lueck.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. David was also a life member of the Barton Adrain Neubarer Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post 8658.
It was David’s desire that there be no services or visitation.

Charles C. Jaskolski died peacefully at the age of 81 yeara on 30 September 2006. Charles was survived by his second wife and best friend, Florence (Nolan) Jaskolski of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA; three children from his first marriage to the late Ordell (Rehberger) Jaskolski, Kenneth (Diane) Jaskolski and Carl (Olivia) Jaskolski, both of Milwaukee, and Karen Satterfield of German-town. He was the grandfather of David Jaskolski of Sussex, Joseph (Donda) Jaskolski of Hartford, Heather (James) Stadler of Sussex and Eric C. Jaskolski of Milwaukee; and great-grandfather of Tessa, Noah, Natalia, Zachary, Samatha and Alisa. He was also survived by step-daughters, Carol (Ray) Knapp of West Bend, Nancy (Howard) Lovejoy and Martha "Dolly" (Daniel) Martinez, both of Milwaukee; plus stepsons David (Jody) Galdick of River Falls and Larry (Leone) Galdick, Milwaukee.

Herman W. Doll, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered into eternal peace at the age of 80 years on Sunday, 26 November 2006 at Kathy Hospice. Herman was born on 04 April 1926, son of Herman J. and Anna (nee Engeleiter) Doll. He honorably entered into the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. After returning home, Herman married Elizabeth M. Wolf on 08 May 1948 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. After marriage, the couple began a loving family of their own. Herman worked at various heating and sheet metal companies, including MacMetal and also White House Milk Company. He most recently worked at Parts Plus as a local delivery driver. In his free time, Herman enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, playing sheepshead, dancing and traveling. Throughout his life, Herman was an avid baseball fan.
He was survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Marie "Betty;" his treasured children, Kenneth and Susan Doll of Hatley, Rick and Linda Doll of West Bend and Terri and Bob Gessner of West Bend; his adored grandchildren, Brian and Lisa Doll, Aaron and Kim Doll, Kristin and Josh Smith, Joshua and Rianna Doll, Michael, Meghan and Lindsay Doll and Jennifer Gessner; and dear great-grandchildren, Brittney, Brianna, Kayla and Nicholas Doll. Alexander G. Lefeber

Alexander G. Lefeber, also known as Alex, of Eden, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, USA, was called home to his Heavenly Father at the age of 72 years on Friday, 06 October 2006. He passed away at his home following a long battle with cancer. Alex was born on 22 June 1935 in Fond du Lac, son of Alexander P. and Ida (Abler) Lefeber. He attended St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac. Alex served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 during peace time in Germany in the 11th A/C. On 29 June 1963, Alex married Kathryn Ann Flynn at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eden, now Shepherd of the Hills Parish. He was a retired hog farmer on the family farm near Dotyville, and also worked as a machinist for 22 1/2 years at the Gehl Company in West Bend, Washington County. Alex was a devoted member of Shepherd of the Hills Parish and faithful member of the church choir. As an active member of the community, he served as a poll worker for the town of Forest and was a former member of the Fond du Lac County Pork Producers. He always enjoyed the outdoors and even before retirement would try to get away as much as possible for hunting, fishing (especially ice fishing) and relaxing with friends and family. His love for storytelling, polka and country music, and political discussions around the table will be greatly missed.

Henry C. Waldeck Jr., also known as Hank, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years on Sunday, 08 October 2006 at Kathy Hospice. Henry was born on 18 February 1927 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, son of Henry Sr. and Marie (nee Pfister) Waldeck. After 33 years of employment, Hank retired from the Kohler Company in Kohler where he was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. On 17 June 1988, he married Joyce M. (nee Hardegen) Wolf in West Bend . In April 1945, Hank entered active duty service with the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in September 1951. He later served with the Wisconsin National Guard, Ozaukee Composite Squadron and the Civil Air Patrol. During his military service, Hank was awarded many medals, including the Army Good Conduct Medal, America Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation (Japan) Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal (with two bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal (Korea). Hank was a life member of the West Bend Fred A. Schaefer Veterans of Foreign Ward Post 1393, the West Bend Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post 36, 1st Cavalry Division Association, 32nd Division Association, Korean War Veterans Association and Corporal Richard A. Bell Chapter 111 of which he served as president.

Burial of the cremated remains was on Saturday at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend with military honors provided by the West Bend honor guard. Visitation was at the church on Friday.

Marvin C. Kleinke

Marvin C. Kleinke of Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 92 years on Monday, 09 October 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend. Marvin was born on 24 January 1914 in Shawano, Shawano County, son of William and Amanda (Brockhaus Baker) Kleinke. On 27 October 1945, Marvin was united in marriage to Dolores Marie Caroline Heberer at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, earning several medals including the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Silver Battle Star, four Overseas Service Bars and Bronze Battle Star. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Kewaskum Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384, the Kewaskum Lion’s Club and the Kewaskum Historical Society. Marvin was an active member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum where he served as an elder and financial secretary for many years. After his retirement from A.O. Smith Company in Milwaukee, Marvin was employed by the Kewaskum School District in building maintenabce and worked at the Amerahn in Kewaskum for 23 years. He was a valued volunteer in Kewaskum, from Meals on Wheels to one of his favorite events, the annual Easter egg hunt. If anyone needed a hand with anything, Marvin was there to help.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him. A memorial service was held for Dr. Joseph A. Seidl, also known as Doc, on 13 October 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton. Doc passed away peacefully into eternal life at 79 tears of age on Tuesday 10 October. Visitation was held at the church, followed bya memorial Mass. Doc was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County on 10 February 1927. He was a 1944 graduate of Marquette High School and served in the United States Navy Hospital Corps for two years. He graduated from Marquette University in 1949 and Marquette Medical School in 1953. Doc was a physician for the Grafton community from 1954-68, followed by a career in occupational medicine with American Motors/Chrysler.
Doc was survived by his beloved wife Genevieve (Dolan); sons John (Karen Huske), Fred (Vicki), Paul and Steve. He was the proud grandfather of Michael, Megan, Melissa, Leah, Scott, Jacob, Julianne and Nicholas; proud great-grandfather of Austin Lee; and dearest brother of Marge (Frank) Tarantino. Henry A. Jordan passed away at the age of 64 years on Wednesday, 11 October 2006 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA. Henry was born on 16 March 1942, son of Frederick and Catherine (nee Schober) Jordan in Caledonia, Racine County where he was raised. After his schooling, Henry moved to Neillsville and then entered the military serving in the United States Army for eight years. He married Darceal Tackes on 17 June 1967 at St. Peter Parish in Slinger, Washington County. Henry worked at the Gehl Company for 16 years and then at Batzler Trucking for 24 years. He was a member of the Wisconsin Retirees Camping Group and enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. Henry loved playing sheepshead, taking care of his yard and woodworking. Above all, Henry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Math H. Yogerst

Mathias H. Yogerst, also known as Math, of West Bend, Washington County, Wiscoinsin, USA, died at the age of 91 years on Friday, 13 October 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend. Math was born on 13 May 1915 in Allenton, son of Nicolas and Mary (nee Weis) Yogerst. He married Evelyn H. Bork on 09 August 1941 at St. Mary Church, Kansasville. Evelyn passed away on 30 January 1998. On 22 March 2002, Math married Helen Schlossmacher (nee Lane) at Immanuel UCC, West Bend. Mathias served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked at the Norton bomb site during the war and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the American Theatre Medal. After his discharge in 1946, Math was employed at the Gehl Company, retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and traveled around the world with Evelyn. Math was able to celebrate his 90th birthday on both coasts, starting out in New York and flying to San Francisco before boarding a cruise ship sailing to Vancouver. He was a member of Gehl Company’s Hexelbank Club, which recognizes 25 years of employment, and was also a longtime member of Holy Angels Church.
Matgias was survived by his wife, Helen; two children, Jim Yogerst of St. Charles, Missouri. and Bonnie (Charles) Zahnow of Cedarburg; seven stepchildren, E.J. (Julie) Nahmens of Adams, William Nahmens of Milwaukee, Greg (Yosiah) Nahmens of Fischer, Ind., Mike (Renate) Nahmens of Richfield, Theresa (Brian) Oppermann of West Bend, Jeri (Lee) Owen of Jackson and Larry Nahmens of Delafield; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Donald A. Trepte of the town of Trenton, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 84 years on Thursday, 05 October 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph Hospital. Donald was born on 16 March 1922 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, son of Gustav and Florence (nee Buchholz) Trepte. Following his high school graduation, he began working for Globe-Van Doern Corporation in Milwaukee. He then enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. During World War II, he served in the European Theater as a B-24 pilot, and also was a POW. After the war, he returned to Wisconsin and resumed his career with Globe-Van Doern. At the time of his retirement, he was the president and chairman of the corporation. On 12 January 1944, he was united in marriage to Dorothea M. Blohm in Wauwatosa. Dorothea predeceased on 23 August 2001. Donald served as a director of M&I Northern Bank, was a member and board member of many organizations, including Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend, Alonzo Cudworth Post #23 American Legion, Fred A. Schaefer Post #1393 VFW, Milwau-kee Zoological Society, Milwaukee Builders Exchange and the Mil-waukee Rotary Club.

William D. Houck, also known as Bill, of Slinger, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 72 years on Thursday,12 October 2006. Bill died of cancer and he fought very hard to over come it. He was born on 22 May 1934 in Park Falls, Price County, son of Edward and Ann (nee Mader) Houck. He served his country in the United States Army. Bill married Patricia Burg in 1964 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartford. He worked at International Stamping Company in Hartford for over 20 years. Bill loved his children and grandchildren very much.

Lambert John Winnemueller, also known as Bert, dearest husband and best friend of Alyce (Schacht), died peacefully at the age of 79 years on 18 October 2006 at the Kathy Hospice. Bert loved his God, his wife and their families, and his country, having served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1953. He was born on 28 August 1927 in Port Washington, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, son of John and Anna (nee Kolvenbach) Winnemueller. He attended St. Mary School in Port Washington and also Port High School. Bert was a loyal employee of 35 years at the Wisconsin Electric Company (We Energies), retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Waubeka Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Young@Heart group of West Bend, Catholic Knights and the Quad Parish Ministry for Seniors.

Thomas Albert Thorson

Thomas Albert Thorson, also known as Tom, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered into eternal peace at the age of 76 years on Tuesday, 17 October 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph Hospital. Tom was born in Chetek, Barron County on 14 October 1930, son of Albert Leonard and Elsie May (nee Schofield) Thorson. The family moved to the West Bend area, where Tom was raised and graduated from West Bend High School in 1948. After high school, Tom honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. When he returned,Tom attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi and graduated in 1956. He served as the chairman of the town of Grand Chute from 1965-1969. On 18 May 1978, Tom devoted his life and love to Carol Kay Mittelstaedt-Hovey at St. John Lutheran Church in West Bend. He was a member of the Toastmasters of West Bend, the Christian Business Men’s Committee and the Stephen Ministry at St. John. In his free time, Tom loved playing cards, reading, fishing, golfing, testing his abilities at crossword puzzles and avidly supporting both the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Burton E. Jaeger

Burton E. Jaeger, also known as Burt, of West Bend, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, entered into eternal peace at the age of 81 years on Thursday, 19 October 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend. Burt was born in Cascase, Sheboygan County, on 06 February 1925, son of Harry and Elva (nee Schlenter) Jaeger. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1943. Burt married the love of his life, Pauline Zweifel, on 28 December 1950 in Belleville, Dane County. While continuing his education, he served his country in the United States Navy on two separate tours of duty, the second being on Midway Island in 1951. After serving, he returned to the University of Wisconsin-Stout, graduating in 1953. His career in teaching began in Pembine and then continued in Frost, Minnesota. Burt took time out from teaching for several years selling stocks and bonds with Investors Diversified Services in Minnesota and Marshall Co. in Milwaukee, when they moved back in 1957. Burt decided to go back to teaching and taught in the West Bend School District for 26 years. During his career he taught industrial arts, mathematics and drivers’ education. He retired from teaching on 02 June 1988 at Silverbrook Middle School. In addition to teaching, he started his own business selling above-ground swimming pools with his wife, and was engaged in that business for 18 years. Burt was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Bend Post 1398 and the Webeng Investment Club. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening, dancing and playing cards. He was an avid sports fan, following the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks.
He was survived by his wife, Pauline, of 55 years; his daughters, Jori (Steve) Schmeling of West Bend, and Tami Elward of West Bend; three granddaughters, Amanda Schmeling, Alyssa Schmeling and Elsa Elward; a brother, Gerald Jaeger of Sheboy-gan; a sister, Bonnie (Bernie) Klunke of Winnabow, North Carolina; siblings-in-law, Wilbert C. Zweifel of Evansville, Marvin Zweifel of Belleville, Frederick and Alice Zweifel of Sun Prair-ie, Kenneth and Mary Stampfli of Bancroft, Werner Kuenzi of Madison, Ruth Zweifel of Belleville and Henry Zweifel of Belleville. He was further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial was held today for Richard M. Frank, also known as Dick, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. Dick passed away at the age of 71 years on Thursday, 19 October 2006 at the Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls. The Very Reverend Steven J. Kachel celebrated the Mass. Family and friends called for visitation at the church in Tomah and on 25 October at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. Reverend Mike Lightner officiated the prayer service. Burial took place at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA.
Dick was born on 03 June 1935 in Cedarburg, son of Walter and Elsie Frank. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1953. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for four years attached to a communication squadron in Germany. On 02 July 1960 he was united in marriage to Ruth Heald in Cedarburg. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Dick began his career as a personnel manager at Doerr Electric in Cedarburg, where he worked until moving to the Tomah area. He then became the personnel manager at the Toro Company in Tomah and later at Farnam Sealing Systems in Necedah.
Dick was survived by his wife Ruth; daughters Cynthia "Cindy" Tubbs, Sheri (Jim Finnegan) Marsh and Christine (Jeffrey) Rezin (all of Tomah); grandchildren Eric and Jennifer Tatzel, Nicholas and Tania (Moser) Marsh, Ryan and Amber (Marsh) Schmidt, Jenna (fiance« Steve Dollar) Rezin, Jeremy, Kelsey and Samantha Rezin; great-grandchildren Richelle and Dakota Dollar, Sean and Mikai Marsh, Xavion Schindler and Kirsten Schmidt; sisters Audrey Zwickey of Cedarburg, Monica (Dick) Tillmann of Grafton and Bernice (Bud) Miser of Port Washington; brothers Glenn (Eunice) Frank and Thomas (Rosemarie) Frank (both of Cedarburg). Richard L. Smith, also known as Smitty, of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away at the age of 70 years on Sunday, 22 October 2006 at his residence. Richard was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County on 24 April 1936, son of Daniel and Cecilia (nee Blum) Smith. He married Phyllis Talajkowski on 23 November 1957 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Smitty had been a police officer in Hartford for 25 years. The last 10 years of his career he served as the juvenile officer liaison at the high school. He also enjoyed working with the Special Education classes. Smitty was a member of the Hartford Courtney-Carr-Milner American Legion Post 19. He loved fishing and started the fisheree at the mill pond. He was dedicated to his faith and prayed the rosary daily. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially the kids.

Norman G. Rambow

Norman G. Rambow of Slinger, Washington County Wisconsin, USA and formerly of Juneau, Dodge County, died at the age of 86 years on Friday, 20 October 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend. Norman was born on 22 February 1920 in the town of Hustisford, son of Edward and Martha (nee Haack) Rambow. He was united in marriage to Imelda "Mutzie" LaBuwi on 03 July 1957 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. He had a God-given talent for art and started sketching at age 4 and continued until age 12, when he had an art correspondence course from the Minneapolis Art Institute to add to his talents. After graduating from Hartford High School, Norm did illustrations for the Hartford Times Press.
When he realized that he couldn’t make a lifetime living doing only this, he joined the Krueger Studio in Hartford, taking an apprenticeship in photography.
His work was interrupted by WWII and he was drafted into the United States Army. Having served basic training, Norm was assigned to the Army Signal Corp School for communication drafting. After completing his schooling, Norm was transferred to the Army XIV Corps, an administrative corp located in Fort Worth, Texas. He was assigned to the Signal Corp Office as a communication draftsman. He served three years in the Solamon Islands, Phillipines, and in Japan after the surrender. During those three years, Norm rose from the rank of private to technical master sergeant. He received four battle starts for the XIV Corp being involved in four campaigns. He was awarded the Bronze Star for ingenuity in repoducing an order and plans by diagrams and drawing and for his persistent efforts above and beyond the call of duty.
After the war, Norm rejoined Krueger Studio as an assistant photographer. He then wished to have his own studio and, after two years, started his own business in Juneau in 1948. He was later joined by his wife, who assisted him for the remaining 40 years, until their retirement. Upon his retirement from photography, Norm worked at Wal-Mart in Beaver Dam where he was known as the "friendly dapper" greeter for over 19 years. Norm was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Juneau and the Juneau American Legion Post 15.
Survivors included his nephews, Sylvan Weber of Hartford and Lee (Yvonne) Weber of Ashippun; a great-nephew, Dan (Mary) Weber, of Hartford; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1994; and his sister, Vanessa Uecker.
Visitation was on Tuesday, 24 October at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and was followed by the funeral service where Reverend Paul Hirsch officated. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford on Wednesday, 25 October with military graveside services conducted by Juneau American Legion Post 15.

Elming A. Johnnson

Elming A. Johnson of Hartford, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, was born to eternal life at the age of 78 years on Sunday, 08 October 2006. Elmer was born in Ashland, Ashland County on 21 March 1928, son of Elming A. and Bernice (nee Anderson) Johnson Sr. He was raised by his stepmother Mary Louise. Elming married Marion Bauers in 1949 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County. He served his country in World War II in the United States Navy. Elming was the president of A-OK Box Company in Milwaukee for 25 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, loved to be on his computer, and enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden. Elming dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was survived by his loving bride of 57 years, Marion; and was the dearest father of Bill (Linda) Johnson of West Bend, Laura (Richard) Burki of Cudahy, Dan (DD) Johnson of Cedar Grove, John (Sandy) Johnson of Big Bend, Jim (Donna) Johnson of Greenfield and Peggy (Cory) Shuda of Sussex. Russel E. Brawner of Germantown, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the age of 69 years, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha Ciunty. Russel was born on 22 February 1943, in Moline, Illinois, son of Charles and Velmadene Brawner. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Loving husband of forty-seven years to Sharon (nee Behling). Cherished father of Brian (Signe) and Todd. Dear grandfather of Blake, Drew, and Martin Brawner, and Kirsten and Klaire DeQuardo. Brother to Diana Gastrau and Charlene Sue Rott. Son-in-law to Reuben Behling, brother-in-law to Rebecca Moselle and also to Perry Behling. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Russel was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Arelene Behling.

Gathering followed at the family's residence.

The Reverend Paul H. Bollmann went home to be with his Lord at the age of 68 years on Saturday, 05 May 2012. Companion in life with Virginia Schmitz. Loving father of Melissa (Mike) Boblin, Trisha (Scott) Jackson, Shelby (B.J.) Ebert, Eric (Sara) Schmitz and the late Peter Bollmann. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Taylor, Codi, Brittney, Leah Lyn, Felicity, Aiden, Leah and Jenna. Half-brother of Maggie (Al) Ashenbrenner. Further survived by other relatives and many friends.

He served time in Vietnam from 1966-67 and also spent time in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines. He retired from the military in 1985. After his retirement at Northrop Grumman Corp., Paul received his Honorary Ph.D. in theology and was the creator of Heart Ministries. He focused on theology aspects of people in the later years of his life.
Visitation was on Wednesday, 09 May. Burial with military honors took place on Thursday, 10 May at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA.
