And after the declaring persons were informed of the official record, signed the document, with the exception of Michael Schleyen who declares he cannot write.

John emigrated at the age of 50 departing Wöerishofen, Bavaria [80 km west of Muenich]; through Havre, France arriving New York on 09 September 1858 via the ship John H Ryerson and entered the country through Castle Garden. Accompanying Michael were his wife Gertrude and their five children: Katherine, Christian (Adam), Hermann, Margaret, and Stephan. His son John was already in America having arrived the previous year.
